I've Been Slacking

Sorry for being such a slacker lately. I will try and get some new pics up soon.
Aumsville 2004
Wednesday, September 01, 2004
I had my first run-in with this site on a dial-up connection last week. It took forever to completly load this page, so I am changing the format a bit. I will only have a couple pictures showing and links to the rest. This way it won't take so long for the page to load. Just click the link to see the full-size photo. I wasn't able to get to any of the Oregon Tri-fecta contests other than the Aumsville one. Aumsville is my favorite of the three, so it was fine with me. Unfortunatly, my camaras' batteries went dead right before the first pro runs. So I only have pics of the ladies and some of the grand masters. I found this page with some good photos of the Aumsville contest and a quick run-down of the day. Harvest Skateboards

Alot of these pictures don't really show how crowded and crazy the skating was later on in the afternoon, but I think you can get the idea. Not long after we started to pack it up, a huge rain storm blew through and soaked the entire park. The skate gods were with us.

Finally More Random Photos

I took some photos last weekend and I'm finally getting around to posting them. I got a few of Brent, a local ripper that skates effortlessly while throwing down.

I only took a couple of shots of actual skating this weekend. Most of the photos were of the guys killin' it in their wheelchairs.
Here's a sequence shot of Darwin doing a chair roll on the spine. I didn't get the last shot but he pulls these clean.

C'mon Give Me A Break

O.K., I didn't take as many photos as I was planning to, but I did get a few. I've never really taken skating photos so it's all a learning process for me. They may get better. It's also really hard for me to sit around at the park and take pictures, I would rather be riding than lurking with a camara. I forgot the camara on Sunday and the session was pretty good too. I'll try and remember next time.
I am the worst when it comes to names so I'm just going to post photos without any captions.

When I showed up there were two cop cars sitting in front of the park. Some random pulled up, threw open his door, and just started hurling. The ambulance company that sits across the street from the park swung by to see what the problem was. After they checked on him they called the cops in to deal with it. The cops brought in Chiers, the local drunk tank, to take him away. It all had nothing to do with the park, but for some reason the park draws this kind of thing like a magnet.
